Hegemonia is a game I picked up before x-mas. I bought solely because the guys at Penny Arcade said it was good. It’s a rts game in space. But it’s more. It’s a realtime version of games like Master Of Orion. Here 3 shot of it:

So you can see it has some decent graphics as well. It is a little deep for a rts, I’ve only played the first two levels. It may be a keeper.

This was the funniest piece of spam I have ever had the privilege to delete. It’s like something out of a Saturday Night Live skit. The e-mail address of the sender was coloncleanse2abu@excite.com. Colon Cleanser would be the name of the supposed product, huh? Here is the spam in it’s entirety (and it’s long):

Sarcasm is always true. I don’t care what anyone says to the otherwise. Keep it up? Dirk I’ll never quit. Well as long as I work at the hotel, that is. The hotel is my muse.

So I’m playing with this same group now for a little while and I wonder if it’s a good thing to have them see this site. They will walk away from this place thinking I’m a fucking lunatic. Places of interest for my AOD brothers would be my thoughts on the game we all play and maybe the FAQ would help as well. It will help to remember that this is a strange place. You have to watch out for the weirdo’s that it attracts.

I have been biding my time. I have always known that one day I would be able to get revenge. I realize this is a petty way to feel. I realize that those bastards that fired me are long gone. I realize I’m a little vague here. It’s just that I talk about this at least every year. Sometimes I mention it more.

Back in the day I got fired from the hotel. I was fired because of my website. So whenever “they” talk about the hotel getting a website I always have to chuckle. Because whenever this hotel website is brought up, it’s funny how they always want me to do it.

Now I realize some of these guys running the place are not American. And to clarify I’m not saying that’s a bad thing. I sometimes think that these foreigners don’t understand the way we Americans are. But when this talk about a hotel site goes on I can’t help thinking not a chance in hell. And I think this is an American response, not something they may expect. Seeing how these new owners are more than a little stingy with the raises I’m in a position to not help them.

Between my own site and the new AOD Guild site I just don’t have the time. The fact is the only way I’m doing the hotel a site is if I’m paid. I’m not talking about doing it on the clock while I do audit. I mean getting paid for helping them get a website for the hotel. Either in addition to my meager hourly audit wage or a new position were I come in and do it when it’s convenient to me. Call me silly, but I don’t see that happening.

So for now all they get is “not a chance in hell” and that is me being generous.

Yeah I’m letting my baby go to hell. Hotelblues.com hasn’t been updated since the 13th of this month. The AOD on the other hand, has been updated the last six days in a row. I haven’t forgotten about my main domain. I’m just trying to get the guild site in tip top shape. Take for example the whole browser compatibility thing. This drives me crazy. IE and NS more or less show the same thing. NS will occasionally on first load have the left and right gif borders out of sync. Opera on the other hand doesn’t even show the side gif borders. I can’t figure it out. I have expended all of my know how just getting this far. I’m not giving up. I’m just making a strategic withdrawal on the idea. I have to go now and play Dark Age of Camelot.

Well the Forum has been a hot bed of activity. Between my AOD guild-mates and the poor guy I referred to as the pinhead the forum has seen the most action it ever has. I think my attitude problem cause’s more problems than it’s worth. Then again this site has always attracted strange people. That’s not meant as an insult.

I mention in the forum thread for the last post how I just don’t like talking about religion, politics, and women. I think it’s best to avoid these topics. Most of my friends (yeah I have some) know I don’t talk about this stuff. I have had bad experiences with all three of these subjects. The guy obviously has mistaken me for something I’m not.
