	New Trek Movie Pictures 4:07 am-Turk Comments (0) Movies Permalink (No Ratings Yet) So instead of talking about the Brother’s Wedding or even Warhammer Online I wanted to post these pics of the actual cast in uniform and a little bit of the bridge from the new Star Trek movie that JJ Abrams is making. These pictures makes me want to see this. The uniforms look good. They retain the classic look with a touch of the modren. Now the bit of the bridge you get to see is just too white. I’m not going to comment on the new Kirk. But fuck both Spock and McCoy look good. The rest I’m just not sure about. And check out the short skirt on the chick behind Kirk and McCoy in the bridge shot. I’m sure more and more info will be released as the release date gets closer.

It is a good look at the USS Enterprise from the new movie. Saw it over at TrekMovie.com. They released the trailer at the official site. So I downloaded it and took screen captures of what you can see of the Enterprise in the trailer. I’m just a huge geek.

	Star Trek Online 1:26 am-Turk Comments (0) MMO's Permalink (No Ratings Yet) I like mmorpg’s and Star Trek. So naturally I’ll regurgitate this info posted here. It is the first in game screenshot released for Star Trek Online. Not really much to go on. They go on about the interaction system. But really give no details that disprove the Shacknews article: Perpetual has been acquired by new ownership, reportedly a media company looking to use Star Trek Online to make its first major inroads into the video game market. Along with the acquisition comes a partial retargeting of Star Trek Online to what our source describes as a “more casual” experience, one which may potentially eschew subscription fees in favor of the practice of charging real money for optional in-game items, a practice popularized by various Korean MMOs. Dumbed down is the wave of the future.

	New Trek Movie 6:32 am-Turk Comments (0) Movies Permalink (No Ratings Yet) There is a new Star Trek movie being made. With new actors playing the parts. CNN has an article talking about the news of the casting of Captain Kirk. Here is the breakdown: Here are the IMDB links to these people: Chris Pine as Captain Kirk Zachary Quinto as Mr Spock Karl Urban as Doctor McCoy Simon Pegg as Scotty John Cho as Sulu Zoe Saldana as Uhura Anton Yelchin as Chekov I don’t even know what to think. It’s hard to imagine some of them as these characters. In costume and on the set will give a better idea how they will do. Just wow though.

	Star Trek Legacy 5:32 pm-Turk Comments (0) Games Permalink (No Ratings Yet) Star Trek Legacy is the first game published by Oblivion creators Bethesda Softworks and it’s out now for the pc. It’s a RTS without any base building or resource gathering and so far it’s just a lot of fun. The game was designed by the same people that did Star Trek: Armada II. One of the big things about this game is that has every series featured in it. So the entire history of Star Trek is represented. Also everyone of the Captains from each show has done voice over work for it. The downside is that the game has a huge console feel to it. Stressed even more by it’s automatic use of a wired Xbox 360 controller if you have one. What even makes it worst is that there is no explanation on what button does what on the controller. So you have to fumble around with it till you got it all figured out. It helps in my opinion to have the 360 controller though. It seems easier to control than using a keyboard and mouse. So if your a huge Star Trek Geek I think the game is for you. As I’m just having a lot of fun playing the game despite it’s console feel. Be aware there is a patch already that is needed for multiplayer. You can get that over at the Bethesda Star Trek Legacy site. Star Trek: Legacy Patch v1.1 (5.22 MB).

	Trek On DVD 2:12 am-Turk Comments (7) Pictures Permalink (No Ratings Yet) So I’m happy as fuck now that original Star Trek is out on dvd in season sets. I picked up the Season One set at Walmart because those greedy fucks at Best Buy were selling it for ten bucks more. It was 96 plus tax at Walmart. Which next to buying it online this was the best price I could find. And the box it comes in is pretty damn neat. It’s great to be able to watch Kirk, McCoy, and Spock on dvd anytime I want to. I didn’t realize how many great episodes were in the first season. My all time favorite episode This Side of Paradise was in the first season I was happy to find out. It was this episode that really made me dig Captain Kirk. Kirk was so dedicated to his ship and crew that he would fight off this effect of total peace and tranquility the spores gave him. And then go on to try to piss off Spock just to snap him out of it. Lots of good stuff on this set. To many to go on about. So if you like the original series you have to go buy this. Seasons two and three will be coming out soon on dvd as well. And then when I have them all I will be a happy camper.
