I picked up the February issue of Computer Gaming World and it had a demo for Medal Of Honor: Allied Assault. Wow this game is awesome! It is like your in the movie Saving Private Ryan. The graphics are great and the sound is also excellent. It really puts you into the WWII setting. The demo is also available for download. I’ll have some more info later. I have to get to work. Here are the screen shots:

Ok the last time I talked about Star Trek Bridge Commander I mentioned my geekly anticipation to play this sucker. Well a week ago I spent the whole night downloading the 110mb demo. So I finally got to play this neat Star Trek game. It’s safe to say this one will be a winner.

These shots (1024×768) show off the size difference to the starships and starbases (along with a shot of the ship in transit and a bridge shot):

    One Two
    Three Four
    Five

The first four shots are in the “tactical view” and the last one is from the “bridge view”. “Tactical view” lets you see the outside of the ship. This is also the mode to manually control the starship. “Bridge view” is were you are sitting in the captains chair and you do it like Kirk and Picard. You order your crew and they do the best to follow your orders.

You don’t have to play one way or another. The “bridge view” is the easiest. Or it is the mode that lets you play with out to much micro managing. Fun either way. Here is a page that has six more screen shots showing the different bridge officers/stations you can command.

Here are some more Star Trek Bridge Commander screen shots. These 1024×768 shots show off each of the bridge stations. Tactical, helm, engineering, science, and your first officer. Plus a shot of old big nose Picard thrown in as a bonus. Picard acts as the tutorial in the demo.

Renegade is a game I mentioned before briefly, saying I went to Lan Planet to play it. I didn’t mention what it is. Renegade is a FPS (First Person Shooter) set in the Command and Conquer universe. C&C is a RTS (Real Time Strategy) game. An idea I thought was cool. The game is out and it’s been getting so-so reviews. I think it’s fun enough. This one is really for people who dig the RTS C&C. As per the usual here are some shots (1024×768):

A warning to those of you with XP that this game has been a little finicky running. There has been a few patches out that have had a so so effect on making the game more stable on XP.

Jedi Knight II Screens 7:02 pm-

Freedom Force came out on Tuesday. That wasn’t enough for me though. Yesterday Jedi Knight II hit stores. Me being the Star Wars Geek I am had to pick it up. If you like Star Wars and you play computer games consider this one a must have. It has it all graphics, story, and of course the fact your a Jedi. As per the usual with these kinds of post, here are the screen shots(1024×768):

    One Two
    Three Four
    Five

I tell this is one great looking game. The sound is also dead on. To me that’s important in games like this. If it doesn’t sound like Star Wars then what’s the fun? And the game is fun. It’s also a little hard. The levels are huge and I keep getting lost. Again I say go and grab this game.

    Dungeon Siege! 6:38 pm-

Dungeon Siege is currently what has my every waking thought. Damn I love this game. If you have played games for a while the pedigree of this one alone is merit to pick it up. A guy named Chris Taylor made the game. Taylor also did the best Real Time Strategy(rts) game ever called Total Annihilation.

Dungeon Siege is an action rpg kind of like the Diablo series. But then it’s nothing really like Diablo. I’m not going to blab on and on about this game. Here are the shots (1024×768):

    One Two
    Three Four
    Five

Pay attention to the last screen shot, it has one of the things that makes the game great in it. The packmule. This alone makes the game special. That last shot I have everyone loaded with loot. Man it’s cool. You really just have to play it to understand. I will worn you that the Dungeon Siege is one system hungry game. You better hope you have the hardware to run it. Here is a great fan site to find more info if your interested in it.

I’m still enthralled by that damn Dungeon Siege. I’m it’s bitch and I don’t mind at all. It really is a fun game. Here is a screen shot showing off the “other computer”. Beware this sucker is at 640×480 with only 16 bit graphics on in the game.

    This And That

Compare that to the other shots from my computer at home. Yeah I’m bored at work.
