Holiday Inn to become Ramada next week is the link of the day/night. What can I say? Other than “I told you so!” Here’s a lovely quote from the piece:

“Ishak became general manager Sept. 13 when DePalma Hotel Corp., based in Arlington, Texas, took over management of the Holiday Inn, located at 200 Dearborn Ave., South Beloit.”

Well shit that’s news to me. Yeah I know the dude has been here and he’s the guy in charge. But I missed the memo telling how he’s the GM. Wait, there was no such memo. This is another case of flat out lying. These cowboys are starting to make it a habit.

Heck here’s something I wasn’t expecting. A message in the comments section of the bit I wrote called What To Do? Here is what “Deep Throat” had to tell me:

And I know how to use spell check. I saw that you took down the article you wrote about the one dumb manager at the hotel. Take this any way you want. I’m sure you will flame me. Go ahead and cut your own throat.

Part of me thinks this is just some asshole trying to get me going. Part of me thinks that maybe, just maybe this is someone who is with the people managing the hotel.

But this doesn’t scare me. If it is someone from the people managing the hotel that’s fine. It just shows that maybe these management types don’t like their employees to have a mind of their own. And god forbid that maybe one of the peons are smart. Maybe smarter than the so called managers.

I’m not going to flame you. Fuck I could care less who reads this shit I write. I don’t think all the people from Texas are steers and queers. Most of them. Heh. When is your pathetic site going to be back up? What a beautiful site it was. I miss it.

Well fuck me, here is another instance were I am at a loss of words.

So I had a talk with the guy in charge last night. This was the first time anyone there asked me about my site. This is the first time “they” even admitted to coming to my site. I was simply asked not to write about the the hotel while I was at work. No threats. If I want to at home well that ok. The direct quote out of the horses mouth was “it’s a free country.”

Which I guess I didn’t know that. Man it’s a free country. Well that’s cool. Here all this time I thought I had been breaking the law or something. Well now that this free country thing has been brought to my attention it’s a whole new ball game.

Now that I have the sarcasm out of the way, I can tell you how I really feel. This is all that “they” ever had to do. All I wanted was some communication. Sure I think it slightly illogical to say don’t write bad shit while at work, but if I’m at home well then it’s ok. All “they” had to do was talk to me. Talk to me in a civil and polite manner. I will even honor the guys request.

This guy has some points with me now. His approval rating among angry sarcastic Hotelblues.com webmasters is sitting at about 71.8% right now. That’s more than any other GM has got. The fact he was talking openly about visiting my site gets him points. Man no one before ever would admit they ever looked at my site. He asked me if I have issues to talk to him before I write about it. The man gets a few more points. This could be love.

So everything is honky dory right? Well not really. The old “trust no one” X-Files saying is still burnt in my brain. I still plan to take advantage of this “free country” thing he mentioned. I don’t think “they” would fire me again for the website. No “they” will think up something new. If it comes to that. I for one hope it doesn’t have to come to that. Time will tell, it always does.

So here I am at Circuit City shopping with the new guy for a PC for work. What a time. We found a decent PC here at Circuit City. The only bad thing about it is the fact it is a Celeron. On board goddamned video. I hate those. No AGP port to slide a cheap GeForce 2 into.

I also ate launch with the dude. Again I will say… No this is the first time? He’s ok. I wouldn’t want his job. That I know. Well I got to go. I futzing with a Circuit City “broadband” display computer. I say “broadband” because my 56k modem at home is faster.

I found the guys who are handling the auction of the hotel. Did I mention the hotel was up for auction? Whoops it must have slipped my mind. Anyway they have no mention of the hotel. So it must be one of those hush-hush kind of deals. If and when I find out some more on this auction I’ll throw it up here.
