A great story was told to me that I must pass on. It’s a classic. It’s about the New GM Douche Bag.

The second shift front desk clerk was going about their business when the sheriff comes out to the front desk. As it happens the New GM Douche Bag was out in the lobby and sees that the sheriff is behind the desk. “What are you still doing here?” the new gm asks the sheriff.

The sheriff responds “I’m here to help with the check ins.”

The New GM Douche Bag replies “I don’t see the need for you being here. Go home. The second shift desk clerk is very capable of handling the check ins. Are you trying to impress me?”

Which at this point in the story I’m laughing my ass off and didn’t hear the end. I wasn’t going to write one word about this New GM Douche Bag. But then I went and forgot to turn on the Idiot Page again after playing with some stuff on the site. The New GM Douche Bag by luck came to the site at the right time and left two comments on past articles. Which is really all I’ll have to say on this subject. I write about the retarded shit that happens at the hotel. I don’t cover this kind of stuff. It’s the best compliment I can give.

Drunk people. I hate them. The bar called down when I came in and wanted someone (other than themselves) to come down and take care of some passed out drunk. My response was of course your on your own. Actually I told them to call the cops. They said but it’s a guest. Fuck them. Passed out drunk is not a hotel sort of problem. That’s the realm of men in blue.

Later a hotel employee came up with this supposed drunk passed out guy. Which I had assumed that the employee was taking the guy home? Or something. Well as it turns out that this employee was taking the drunk to another bar. Or again I assume this is what happened. Because this employee later returned with the drunk and was shit faced also. This particular employee I have seen all boozed up before.

The employee asked me to call a cab. I dialed the number and gave them the phone. When I’m not drunk I can’t stand drunk people. This drunk hotel employee is trying their best to be funny. I hate funny drunk people even more. So I decided to take the humor out of this employee by letting them know that the cab takes forever to get here. The drunk employee doesn’t like this. The drunk employee wants to go home and pass out.

It’s at this point that this shit faced employee decided to drive home. Except the drunk employee doesn’t want to look like some shit faced drunk and they try to get me to decide for them. The employee doesn’t know me. I’m only responsible for one person. Me. I don’t give a fuck about some drunk asshole. If you want to drive home drunk do it. If you want to wait for the cab great. Your an adult and it’s time to act like it. And of course the drunk employee drove home.

Now I’m sure that I’m the bad guy here. I should have been the babysitter for this drunk employee of the hotel? I should have forced the employee to give me their keys? Sorry not me. I’m payed 8.75 an hour to do the audit. That is it. No more, no less. I don’t care if I come off the bad guy. I like being know as the asshole. I’ll be damned if I have to start looking after stupid fucking employees that don’t have the common sense to wait for a cab rather than risk getting a DUI or worse.

A while ago we had this problem where the phone would ring three times in a row every five minutes. After a number of days it was fixed. Now it is back. The first time it happened I would answer each fucking call like it was a real call. Because I hate getting my spiel cut off. Even if it’s me doing the cutting.

It’s just one of those ticks of mine. I have to say the whole fucking thing or I’m just not happy. But not this time. Fuck them. Every five minutes I answer and release three time in a row. Answer Release, Answer Release, Answer Release. I’m not even bothering to pick up the phone. If it’s a real person they will call back. If it’s a real person and they don’t call back? Well fuck them.

This kind of thing will never be fixed. It will only get a temporary fix. The shit will break again. The hotel is to cheap to fix anything the right way. It’s a good thing I just don’t give a shit anymore.

Effective April 14, 2006 Douche Bag Hospitality will be changing from semi-monthly pay cycles to bi-weekly. The work week will change from Monday thru Sunday to Friday thru Thursday. Paychecks will be distributed 10 days after the pay period ends. Hours worked April 1 – April 13, 2006 will be paid on April 24, 2006. The next pay period will be April 14-27. If the pay day falls on a Saturday, checks will be issued on Friday. If pay day falls on a Sunday, checks will be issued on Monday. Please forward questions to the general manager or to the accounting office.

Does that make sense to anyone? Honestly. The old system was pay periods began on the 1st of the month ending on the 15th. Then the 16 to the end of the month. We would get payed on the 10th and the 25th. If pay day fell on a Saturday we got payed on Friday. If pay day fell on a Sunday we got payed on that following Monday.

So it’s clear that management is fucking retarded right? Bi-weekly. Let’s look at that word for a second.

They take something really simple. Every two weeks. And fuck that up with this “if it falls on a Saturday or Sunday” bullshit. Stupid fuckers. Lets do it exactly every two weeks with pay day every other god damn Friday. Jesus you fucking guys are starting to really get to me. It’s bad enough that the fucking dead beat owners can’t stop checks from bouncing. But we have to constantly put up with this inept managerial style.

Honsestly some please explain to me (hotel managers or otherwise) why this can’t be a simple get payed every other Friday? Post in the comments section if you have any input on this subject. I really would like an explanation.

It looks like someone finally read the fucking TimeClock Plus manual. It’s funny that it took this long. Honestly the dumb fucks are lucky I told everyone and their brother how to cheat the system.

Why they would have set it to use the pc’s time in the first place is beyond me.

Honestly now I warned those assholes about doing this. See they got it in their head that the old fucked up time clock that you actually punch a card is no longer good enough. So these tools went and “purchased” this software called TimeClock Plus. Check this screen shot to see what kind of computer they run it on.

The program itself is nice enough. It’s just not secure. Sure they have some stupid thumb print scanner doohickey hooked up via usb that reads your finger print to clock in. It just defeats the whole security idea when all it takes to cheat the system is to change the system time on the pc. Change the time ahead or even go back in time to punch in days past.

Let me be clear and say that I would neither use nor endorse the use of this kind of cheat. I just figured it was a good time to point out again that I am right and the hotel is wrong. This is just here for people to know that they can still cheat the system. Use it at your own risk.

The hotel has a new system for punching in and out. It one of those fancy biometric deals. Scan your finger print to punch in. It sounds great on paper. The idea of punching others in is not so easy with this new system. Now one would have to cut the persons finger off to punch them in.

But as with all new things there are bugs to be found in the system. First off the pc running the software and Win XP is way to old. Secondly the management assholes have to work on the way the software restricts punching in and out.

Below you will see two examples of this. First shot shows how it won’t let me punch in because I’m into overtime. Without a supervisor password I can not punch in. Second shot shows what happens when a person tried to milk the clock, wanting supervisor approval to clock out.

At this time we are still using the old fashioned time clock to punch in and out on. Once this new system goes live (if it does) the question is what do you do if it won’t let you punch in (or out)? I’ll be going home. But that’s me. Very shortly I will have a detailed post on a major exploit regarding this new system. I will be showing everyone how to exploit this flaw and I even have a video that clearly shows how it is done.
