Earth and Beyond is a little different than the other online role playing games I’ve played. I made level 25 today. It took me a year to hit to level 25 in Dark Age of Camelot. Saying my level is 25 is a little misleading.

Levels play a little different in E&B. There are three skills or classes. Combat, Explore, and Trade. You gain experience in the appropriate category. When you have enough experience in one of these category’s you go up a level in it. So I have a combat level 9, explore level 9, and trade level 7. The levels cap at 150. E&B is a different game than DAoC.

And I’m having a shitload of fun playing it. I’ve already logged 20+ hours. I don’t know yet if I’ll keep playing after the free 30 days are up. I also joined a guild called Traders R Us. The only reason I joined up is because I the person creating the guild was offering 100,000 in credits to people to get the minimum number of people to create a guild. And what the hell I’m an officer in the guild. When they give me a url to a website I will post it. I just wonder if E&B will run on the shitty work computer?

Shipley-powered Sobos reach quarters a Rockford Register Star article tells about the Sobos second playoff win. Here’s the blurb off of the sports page:

Flight beat might in Saturday’s Class 1A second-round playoff game between South Beloit and Galena. South Beloit quarterback Jered Shipley provided the flight, passing for 356 yards and four touchdowns in the Sobos’ 35-24 win over Galena.

The Sobos play Freeport Aquin (11-0) next. I believe the game will be in Freeport. Me and some buddies will be going to see that game. All I can say is keep it up Sobos!

Sobo Football is the website for info on my favorite football team. This place has it all stats, links to news articles, roster info, pictures, forums, and anything else you can think of. They have news articles going back as far as the 2000 season. It’s very cool. It’s run by a fellow Sobo. So go check it out.

What can I say about The Bop? I love the place. It’s my hangout. I have been going there for along time. It’s a place that feels like home. I know the lady who runs the bar. A great lady named Bert. Who has to be the best Bartender in the Stateline area.

The Look

The Bop feels like home as I said up top. So my feelings on this bar is a little biased. It has an almost quaint look to it. It’s safe to say the bar has a woman’s touch. Not a bad thing. One thing I love is that behind the bar is a great big old fashioned mirror. Sure every bar has one of those you’ll say. But this one has dollar bills taped to it that people have signed. It’s just one of those cool things you have to see. Lot’s of goofy people have signed dollar bills.

The bar stools (I’m happy to say) are comfy. But if you sit to long they do make your ass hurt.

The Feel

Again I have to say that I’m biased concerning this bar. And like I said the place feels like home. Bert has a great selection in the Jukebox. Two words: Frank Sinatra. I requested Sinatra At The Sands and she got it. The younger crowd hates when I play Sinatra.

The Bop also does Karaoke on Friday and Saturday. The Bop is the location me and Ross had our Karaoke power session. We rocked!

The beer is two and a quarter. At least I think that’s the going price. To be honest with you I never pay attention to the price (unless it’s that goddamned Applebee’s, the cockroach of the bar world) I go in with a lot of money and come out broke.

The Bathrooms

The Bop’s bathrooms are Spartan. Which is not a bad thing. Clean can also be said. These bathrooms are just for you to do your business.

I can say that I have had the privilege (?) of christening the men’s bathroom. Not proud of it. But it happens.

Man it’s around 2:15 in the morning. I made a call to Wall-mart to see if they were selling Episode II yet. They were. So I made a trip up to Wall-mart that round trip took 16 minutes and 50 seconds. But I am a proud owner of the wide-screen dvd Episode II Attack Of The Clones.

I have proved once again that I am a Star Wars Geek. Even more so because I will be jumping to chapter 46 to see Yoda kick ass.

SoBos still on roll is the Beloit Daily News article telling about the Sobos second playoff victory against Galena last saturday. I saw this story mentioned over at the Sobo Football site.

SoBos’ defense stepping up, too is the newest Beloit Daily News article about my beloved Sobos. Here is an interesting quote from it:

South Beloit’s defense can pry a team’s offense at the biggest stages of a ballgame. And this is something that will be the greatest factor in this Saturday’s matchup against top seeded Freeport Aquin, which features two top-notch teams that have made a living scoring the football. As the postseason rolls on for the SoBos though, they’re starting to find that weaknesses are difficult to find at this level.

Well I’m hoping they find a weakness in this Freeport team. Me and my friends are still going to drive up to watch the game. I hope they win.
