So I’ve decided to start an offline journal. I’ll keep this at work and upload it when I get home. I’m already getting the shakes because I don’t have an internet connection at work. I forgot the implication this will mean. First and foremost it means I can’t update my website from work. Second it means no more Dark Age of Camelot at work. When I think about it, it’s kind of pathetic how such a little thing brings me such immense pleasure.

I also am interested in finding out just how many of you that come to my site have some kind of broadband connection. Which brings me to mention I have a new poll running. The question is a easy yes or no. Do you have broadband? It’s over on the right. Go and vote if you get a chance.

Another thing worth asking, is just how many of you run some kind of pop up stopper? If you don’t and even if you do I’m going to pimp the one I use. http://www.emsproject.com/FS is the link to the EMS Free Surfer website. It is as the name suggests a free program. If you come to my pop up heavy website then this is something you need if you don’t have one already.

I had a wish list that I made a while ago. Two of the items are taken care of. Those being getting the computer working and getting broadband. The next item on the list is dropping my free server here at Virtual Avenue and getting a host I will pay for. It’s another one of those things that I don’t really need, but must have. A paid host will enable me to have access to PHP and MySql databases.

This will enable me to do some fancier things with my website. Not to mention it will give a lot more space to play with. I have fifty megs with this free deal. The paid host I’m thinking about switching to offers 500mb of space. Seeing how I’ve almost used up the whole 50 megs, extra space won’t hurt. Just imagine all of the stupid game screenshots I could put up with 500mb of space. The only problem with this is that it may cause trouble with the free e-mail accounts I offer. I will update when I have more info on that.

Changes at Ramada continue is the name of a Beloit Daily News article. The news item tells about the changes going on at the hotel. It is also worth mentioning because it has a picture of the infamous “Temporary Gm” who created and then forgot the 3 R’s, 4 F’s. The picture below should have a caption saying “and it was this big” don’t you think?

The picture doesn’t do the guy justice. Or either I just never noticed what a huge Cro-magnum forehead this guy has. I mean that in the nicest way possible.

SoBos are for real is a Beloit Daily News article that made me happy as hell. My Sobos finished 8-1 and they are the conference champions.

Ok I have found my new host. It’s a place called Pas-Com Web-Hosting and they have the most bang for the buck. For 22 bucks a month they give you 500 mb of web space, 10 gigabytes of data transfer a month, PHP, MySQL Databases, and 50 POP mail accounts.

So For the time being you may want to book mark http://subdomain400940.virtualave.net/ just in case the Hotelblues.com domain doesn’t work. I hope this will be a fast and trouble free transfer of files and the domain.

Once again my free Hotelblues.com E-Mail account holders may have some outage on the access to the service while the domain transfers. I will try to keep you all informed on what’s going on as I make the move.

Well I think I have everything fixed and working from the server move. I have yet to hear from my former Hotelblues.com e-mail users. It makes me think that no one really used them at all. If I do hear from any of you, I have around ten actual POP3 accounts I can give out to you former e-mail users. It’s not enough to cover the 40+ plus people that had signed up. But if ten of you want to keep the you old e-mail address e-mail and and in the message tell me what your Hotelblues.com e-mail address was. Then I set you up and send you the info for the account.

I trained another new guy in the last four days of work. He’s the boyfriend of the chick I had trained a few weeks ago. Another smart kid. He starts next week all by himself. I have inadvertently gotten him hooked on the original Unreal Tournament. He has been a hell of a nice guy and let me you his AOL account while I trained him. Which was nice because I have to do something about not having an account that I can use at work. Maybe there are some free isp’s around still?

I also have installed a new Forum. It’s a php forum called phpBB. I just thought I would mention the fact that I have a forum. Not that anyone use it.

So I was going through the Coranto forum and found an interesting thread. Which is about something one of the Addon authors wrote. I had to do some minor detective work to find the url that was removed. But it wasn’t to hard.

Zac the creator of Zcomment claims that Coranto is spyware in this page called Coranto Build 30 A spy!?. It is a very interesting read. Zac also has AIM logs of chats he had with two high up in the Coranto Community. You can find them here, here, and here.
